Overview

Vidmob’s Data Export feature empowers you to extract and analyze large volumes of creative and performance insights. This supports integration with external tools—such as dashboards, business intelligence platforms, and Market Mix Modeling (MMM)—while reducing reliance on manual data pulls.

Why Data Export is Beneficial

  • Integrate Creative Data into MMM Studies: Understand the impact of creative quality on sales and KPIs by incorporating Vidmob data into your internal models.

  • Enable Custom Dashboards & BI Tools: Build customized reporting pipelines in Tableau, Looker, or Domo with direct access to ad-level metrics and creative elements.

  • Support Predictive Modeling: Export element-level creative attributes and performance metrics to enhance models for attention, lift, ROI, and cost-efficiency.

How to Use the Data Export Feature

Accessing the Feature

  • Go to the Organization view from the Home screen.

  • In the left-hand menu, select Data Exports under Data Management.

Note: Only available for Organization Admins.

Creating Your Export

Step 1: Select Create Export

Step 2: Choose Export Type and Report Type

Export Type

Report Type

Description

Creative Scoring

In-Flight Scoring (default)

Returns scoring criteria, pass/fail results, and compliance score.

Creative Elements

Element Tags (default)

Returns detected creative elements (e.g. logos, captions) by Aperture category.

Creative Analytics

Performance Reporting (default)

Returns performance metrics (e.g. impressions, clicks, counts of view throughs) by day.

Step 3: Enter Export Details

  • Export Name – Name your export file

  • Impressions Date Range (Not available for Creative Elements)

    • Applies only to Scoring and Analytics exports

    • Returns data for ads that delivered impressions during the selected period

  • Filters:

    • Workspaces (Optional)

    • Channels (Optional)

    • Brands (Optional)

    • Markets (Optional)

    • Ad Accounts (Optional)

Creative Elements exports return all detected elements associated with selected ad accounts, regardless of when impressions occurred. This supports use cases where creatives run in multiple campaigns over time.

Exporting the Data

  • The export will generate a ZIP file containing CSV(s) for each selected channel.

  • Each ZIP includes a metadata file to help interpret the structure and definitions of fields in your export.

  • Some exports (e.g. Creative Analytics) also include:

    • KPI definition metadata

    • List of included accounts and workspaces

    • Tag type definitions (for Creative Elements)

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

Question

Answer

What data types can I export?

Three types: 1) Creative Scoring for in-flight media, 2) Creative Elements (element tags), and 3) Creative Analytics (ad-level performance metrics).

How often can I export data?

As often as needed. Exports are ad hoc and configurable by date range and filters.

What’s the difference between Ads View and Asset View in platform vs exports?

In platform (e.g., Meta), users see both Ad View and Asset View. Exports only include Ad-level data to ensure broader platform coverage and minimize gaps from asset-level inconsistencies.

Why does my Creative Analytics export only show metrics by day?

Exports provide raw metrics counts per day (not pre-calculated KPIs) to allow joining with other datasets. KPI calculations match what you see in-platform and are included in a metadata file for reference.

Why is there no date range for Creative Elements exports?

Element data is tied to creatives, which may run in multiple ads over time. To avoid missing any context, we include all element data for selected ad accounts.

Can I filter my exports?

Yes. You can filter by Workspace, Channel, Brand, Market, and Ad Account. Date range is available for Scoring and Analytics exports only.

Can I group my data by week, month, or quarter?

Data is provided at the most granular level possible (creative-by-day). You can group it using tools like Excel, Looker, or Tableau.

Why might I see duplicate rows for a creative?

Creatives may be labeled with multiple brands, markets, or linked to multiple workspaces. Duplicates allow flexible filtering across label combinations.

How do I interpret pass/fail for Scoring criteria?

1 = Passed, 0 = Did not pass, null = Not scored or not applicable to creative type.

What does “Global_” mean in front of a Scoring criterion?

“Global_” indicates the criterion is set at the organization level and applies to all workspaces.

Can I schedule exports or send to a destination like an S3 bucket?

Not yet—but scheduled exports and cloud delivery (e.g., Amazon S3) are planned for future releases.

Where can I find definitions for each field or KPI?

Each export includes metadata files describing fields, KPIs, and tag types depending on the report.

Who can use the Data Export feature?

Only users with Organization Admin access.

What formats are available?

Currently, all files are in CSV format, delivered in a ZIP archive.

What happens if I turn off spending on my reports?

If Spend tracking is turned off in your workspace, any reports using Spend as a KPI may show dashes (–) instead of data or display an error message. When Spend is disabled at the org level, the data is not pulled into the system and will not appear in exports. If you’d like to enable Spend data, please reach out to the support team.
